I bought Mia because I have her older full sister and she is absolutely the best horse I've every had. Mia can be registered with the Appaloosa Horse Club, but she is 3/4 QH and non characteristic. Her sire was a halter horse with a lot of race bloodlines in him. Her mother is a halter and cowhorse bred mare. Mia reminds me a lot of a cutter, very watchful and sensitive, and a bit snorty and very catty. But she hasn't had any buck and is very willing and very smart.
Mia is for sale with or without the completion of her papers. I will take less for her if she sells without them. I did ground work with her off and on all summer last year and began riding her in the fall. If she doesn't sell I'll be running barrels on her by this fall. She has a great stop and moves beautifully, making for an easy ride. She is picking up her leads and cues with the inside leg for barrels.
UPDATE: I began tracking calves with her this weekend (5/17) and she really watches a calf and likes to follow one. Has a lot of natural rate.
UPDATE: (6/1) I used Mia yesterday to move pairs from one pasture to another and check fence. It was her first time in the pasture. She far exceeded my expectations. Was calm by herself and worked as a team member to keep the cattle where they were supposed to be going. Quiet following the herd, but would hurry to keep a stubborn cow in line. Stood ground tied while we fixed fence, alone or with another colt.
She loads, clips, bathes, and has had her feet trimmed regularly. She has good black feet, so I haven't had to shoe her yet.
Don't be afraid to make me an offer (for cash or trade) as all serious offers will be considered. |
