Registered Quarter Horse 11 year old Flashy Red Roan Gelding with a white blaze, beautiful red mane/tail. Outstanding bloodlines out of Top Rebel, Rebel Cause and Top Deck, also Mr. Jaguar, Leo and Three Bars. Major stands at 15.2 hands, 1250 lbs. Excellent conformation. Gentle, anyone can ride. I am 68-years of age and I enjoy riding Major, and also my granddaughters who are city girls also enjoy riding Major. Major is an excellent mountain trail horse, or arena horse. He has a good handle on him, neck reins and knows leg pressure, and has a good stop. Major has 3 excellent gaits. He walks out very nicely. If you want to move him up into a trot, he has the smoothest trot of any horse I've ever ridden. His lope is ground covering and smooth. Major has also been used as a lessons horse, for beginniners to learn how to ride. He has a very quiet, willing disposition. He has been in Downtown Hamilton and Corvallis, Montana in parades. He has a very kind eye, sweet disposition and learns new skills quickly. As a mountain trail horse, he crosses over wooden bridges and downfall, he goes through streams or rivers with ease. Major has been on several back country overnight trips into the Bob Marshall, Selway-Bitterroot and the Pintler Wilderness. You can lead a pack string off him. Also, he has packed with a Decker pack saddle, wall tents, wood stoves, pack boxes and hay bales. Major was raised on a ranch and has worked cattle, sorting, penning, and separating. He has moved cattle from summer pasture to winter pasture and back. He also has roped calves and steers. Major is a well seasoned traveler having traveled over 4,000 miles round trip (Montana to Arizona, the Mexican border and back to Montana) spending the winter of 2016 in Arizona where we were camped out on a 7,500 acre working cattle ranch just 5 miles from the Mexican border, and we rode the ranch daily checking on the cattle, the water lines/ponds, windmills and many miles of fencing. During our stay in Arizona Major was ridden over 100 miles on the Arizona Trail, out of Patagonia, AZ. We also traveled to downtown Tombstone, Arizona and he was involved in a re-enactment of the Gunfight at O.K. Corral, and ridden all over the streets of Tombstone with all the tourists, and he had no problem with any of that. Major has excellent feet. He is easy to shoe and load into the trailer. Major has never been injured or sick a day in his life. Up to date on all his vaccinations and worming. Must go to a good home. $12,500. cash. Call --- 406-361-0126.
